ITS-STORY: Mixed-Reality Narratives at Compiègne-Royallieu
ITS-STORY (Interactive Storytelling - Supporting Augmented Memory in Internment and Deportation Camps in Nazi Europe) is an interdisciplinary project exploring how mixed reality can support memory work at historical sites, with a focus on Nazi transit camps during the Second World War. Funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR-24-CE33-4992), the project runs from 2025 to 2029.
My work focuses on narrative design and user-experience design for immersive mixed-reality experiences representing life in the former internment and deportation camp of Compiègne-Royallieu, France. I also carry out iterative testing of the interactive scenarios.
The project addresses the ethical challenges of using interactive experiences to represent persecution, internment, and deportation. Visit the ITS-STORY project website.
